Client Meeting 2

Attendance: Katie, Matt, Morgan

The first thing we did today was Skype the web designer Mark, we discussed the homepage of the website, and he was looking forward to taking ideas on board about how we can improve it and make it better and more child friendly

We discussed the idea of on the initial landing page, could there be buttons straight away that separate the adult/child sections, both Aris and Mark seemed to like this idea

Aris suggested having a breakdown for adults and one fun page for children

Mark said that the children/adult database is common

The search bar idea instead of just using filters would be good, it could make the website slow but it would be very possible - have the child begin typing in greek or english and it would recognise it

We also questioned ' what is appealing for children to use?' and 'how can we present a lot of words to children?'

We discussed eliminating the expert category so there is only three, beginner, intermediate and advanced, or could we have one page with 3 filters?

Aris mentioned that we may have to keep the 4 pages, as it will be a public and published piece

We asked Mark what he will use to create the website, he will use his own software called manypage.com which is a new programme. He even suggested we could play with it ourselves as a part of this project

After we had spoken to Mark, we spoke with Aris

From our ideas we asked, could we have 'BilexKids' for kids and 'Bilex' for the adults? Or something similar to aid the separation of the two platforms

We also showed Aris the sheet we had done of options for the house style

He liked the top logo, as the typeface is really strong

He also really liked the flag idea and wanted to know if we could combine them both to create a new logo

The letters idea - he suggested we use that as some sort of illustration for the landing page of the website, or something similar

He also said if we were to use this idea, we have to change the letter from 'A' as this doesn't work in both languages, it is the same, and it needs to be a letter which is different

He liked the typeface we picked as it is clear and legible, and wanted the colours to be the flag colours, dark blue, light blue, red and white, all of which were on our moodboard anyway

Actions:

Katie work on the logo, Aris wants there to be a variation for the UK, USA and Australia

Matt and Morgan play with a few web ideas, digitally
