Client Meeting 1

Attendance: Katie, Matt, Morgan, Jessie

Today, we met Aris for the first time and managed to understand better what he wanted us to do.

We agreed to always have Friday meetings with the client at 11am (except 15th March as the client is away that day).

Bilex Kids is a funded project, it is a data base for bilingual children, psychologists, and teachers

The aim is to become a more child friendly platform, with the target market between 5-12 years old

It focusses on words, spelling, translations, and pronunciation

Aris wants to "improve the quality of what is seen through colour illustrations etc"

He uses a bilingual dictionary which makes it different to Google translate

He likes the pop up idea, could this be incorporated into the new website

He is sketching out this idea -

Beginner 5-8

Intimidiate 9-11

Expert 11-12

We discussed the current homepage, it is very psychological and text heavy, which doesn't appeal to children

We also discussed how the database works, i.e. creating values for words, how common they are, how many syllables they have etc

Aris also explained how he may like to link this to new websites in the future, such as Chinese or French translation websites

Aris needs a logo and a website designing, he needs branding including fonts and colours to create a house style

For the next meeting, we will research websites, patterns and sketch out some logo ideas

The next group meeting is Thursday afternoon

Meet your Blogger

Hi! I'm Katie, studying Graphic Design at Coventry University. I am using my blog as a space where I can record my University experience, and document interesting elements of my course, and other things I find along the way. Enjoy!
