Advantage Module Launch

Yesterday morning, I had the launch for my advantage module. I didn't really speak much about advantage last year, so this year it is something I am trying to do.

Obviously, I have to be careful as I am working with children, I can't mention their names or the school I am working at, and have to keep certain information confidential.

Last year, I was a reading buddy with primary school children. The task was to show their development when working with me, and to create tailored activities for them to develop their reading and writing skill.

This year, I am choosing to work with secondary school children. This is because the aim is to be a student tutor, and I want to specialise in Graphic Design.

The only way to do this is to go into a secondary school, as primary schools don't really do Graphics with their students.

For the first session, we went through the course structure, the essay deadline and the learning outcomes for the essay. We also did some ice breaker tasks, as some people did a different advantage last year to this year, and we briefly touched upon schools pastoral systems and why they are important.

I have not ye been placed in a school, but hope to be able to have my induction with in the next few weeks and get started!

Thanks for reading,

Katie Xx
