My Website!

I have blogged before about coding sessions, and said how for the module, I need to code a 10 scroll website. I have never put anything up about the website I have created, so that is what I will show you today.

Firstly, I want to say how much I have STRUGGLED this semester with coding. It has been really tough and I hated being stuck on it. I got so frustrated again and again because I couldn't get the code to do what I wanted it to.

HTML and CSS is so fussy and specific. If you don't close a tag correctly, if you put something in HTML thats meant to be in CSS, if you type something the wrong side of a > then everything goes wrong. At one point, I had put something into the wrong <div> (division) and when I opened my website everything was gone.

There was nothing there.

I got so frustrated with coding and decided I was either not going to submit a website or end up submitting a half finished website.

My friends have been a saviour this semester. I feel we have pulled each other through. I came in Monday 23rd and they were not letting me fail. They helped me to start my website off and then I was away. The hardest part is getting that first bit done. Once they helped me and I saw it there on the screen, working, I was so motivated to get it done. I actually started to get a buzz from coding it.

About 24 hours later, I had a complete 10 page website. A lot of the code is copied and tweaked slightly, but IT IS MY WORKING WEBSITE! I got a few small tweaks from Paula and completed those over the weekend.

My website is now finished and ready to submit, so I thought I'd show it to you.

I am so proud of myself. I have managed to code a website when at so many points in the semester (especially when my laptop had to be reset) it seemed impossible.

I hope you like it as much as I do!

Thanks for reading,

Katie Xx
